Academic Credentials
- Outstanding record of research and education commensurate with tenured full professor
Administrative Experience / Capabilities
- Excellence in senior administrative role preferably at a major university
- Enhanced teaching/academic program development at undergraduate and graduate level
- Facilitated development of research initiatives
- Support and/or development of initiatives to recruit and develop excellent faculty, staff and students
- Some experience pertaining to other related academic activities, e.g., student services, outreach, accreditation assessments and program reviews
Visionary Leadership
- Worked effectively with university community (administrative colleagues, faculty, students and staff), e.g., demonstrated support for shared governance
- Appreciation and understanding of need for collaboration/synergy across academic colleges, state agencies, peer universities and other external constituencies
- Actively contributed to higher education state and national leadership activities
- Strong, proven record of commitment to diversity
- Appreciation and support of globalization initiatives
- Effectively collaborated with governmental and legislative constituencies
- Effectively worked with university alumni (former students) constituencies
- Evidence of effective involvement in development initiatives
- Demonstrated leadership in efforts to mobilize and allocate resources effectively in complex organizational unit
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Appreciation of the mission and complexities of land-grant universities
