On Campus Interviews for Executive Vice President for Academics and Provost Have Been Scheduled

The Executive Vice President for Academics and Provost Search Advisory Committee has reviewed materials of 40 prospects. These individuals hold a variety of leadership positions at universities across the country. Reflecting on the recommendations of the Search Advisory Committee, President Murano wishes to invite Dr. Robert Newman and Dr. Jeffrey Vitter to campus for interviews next week.

Dr. Newman currently is serving as Dean of Humanities and Associate Vice President for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Utah. Dr. Vitter is the Frederick L. Hovde Dean of the College of Science at Purdue University. Their vitas have been posted and are now available online.

The on-campus interviews for these candidates will take place during the week of June 23. The provost search website also provides information concerning the schedule of the candidates’ presentations and also has a link to candidate feedback forms.

Receptions have been scheduled as follows and all members of the university community are encouraged to attend and meet the candidates.

June 24 - Reception for Dr. Jeffrey S. Vitter

  • Time: 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Location: Stark Gallery
  • Agenda: Dr. Vitter will give a brief presentation at 3:30 p.m., followed by a time of questions and answers.

June 26 - Reception for Dr. Robert D. Newman

  • Time: 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
